Robber hits Lewiston credit union

LEWISTON – A robber made off with an undetermined amount of money in a holdup at about 2 p.m. Thursday at the Niagara Wheatfield Federal Credit Union, 2345 Saunders Settlement Road, Lewiston, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Bureau.

Deputies are looking for a white male in his early to mid-30s who is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He was wearing a grayish shirt over a white shirt, blue jeans, light brown boots and a black baseball cap.

The man took the money without displaying a weapon and drove off in a light-colored four-door sedan, possibly a 2000-2004 tan Chevy Malibu, investigators were told.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Investigator Stephen Gaydos at 430-3407.
