One Direction to play Ralph Wilson Stadium

If there is one thing One Direction fans want, it’s to see Harry, Zayn, Liam, Niall and Louis in person. Now, local fans will finally get their chance.

One Direction will be performing at 7 p.m. Sept. 3, 2015 in Ralph Wilson Stadium as part of its "On the Road Again Tour." Tickets are $104, $84, $64 and $44 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Nov. 1 through Ticketmaster, Livenation.com and charge by phone at (800) 745-3000. The Buffalo Bills said presale opportunities will be made available for Bills premium seat holders, season ticket members and Buffalo Bills partners.

“One of the goals of the recent renovations to Ralph Wilson Stadium was to make it a multi-purpose facility,” Bills President Russ Brandon said in a prepared release. “We’re thrilled to bring concerts back to the Ralph, and we know our region will bring the same excitement they bring to the stadium on gamedays. Live Nation has been instrumental in this process and we’re looking forward to working with them to bring One Direction and even more great acts in the future.”

Ralph Wilson Stadium last housed major concerts in 2001, when 'N Sync and Dave Matthews Band performed 10 days apart. 1D and its members Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson – all 22 or younger – were named the most popular musical act in the world earlier this year based on the sales and streaming of such catchy hit singles as “Story of My Life,” “What Makes You Beautiful,” “One Thing” and “Live While We’re Young.”

The band rose from obscurity after being handpicked for the British television show “The X Factor” in 2010 by Simon Cowell. After placing third, the quintet quickly rose to international stardom, becoming the first UK group to debut at the top of the Billboard charts with the disc, “Up All Night.” The group has since become the first band to have its first three discs – “Up All Night,” “Take Me Home” and “Midnight Memories” - debut at No. 1 on the Billboard charts.

1D’s new 16-track disc, “Four,” will be released Nov. 17. The music video for the first single, “Steal My Girl,” is being released today and features a chimp and actor Danny Devito. The song carries the band’s patented vocal stylings and crowd friendly, sing-along chorus.
