Oct. 22, 1959: 'Joe Friday' to visit Buffalo on Halloween

Jack Webb, the man who not only played Sgt. Joe Friday on radio and TV but who also wrote, directed and produced most of the “Dragnet” programs he starred in, announced a Buffalo visit to promote a new motion picture for Paramount.

After a luncheon at the Statler Hotel, Webb planned an appearance on the stage of the Paramount Theatre on Main Street, just south of Shea’s Buffalo.

"Cast in his new role as a crusading newspaperman, Jack Webb will come to Buffalo Oct. 31 for the opening day's showing of his new motion picture '-30-' in the Paramount Theater."
