LOCKPORT – Rodriguez A. Bembo, who punched a fellow Niagara County Jail inmate in the eye March 24, breaking the man’s orbital bone, was sentenced to two to four years in prison Wednesday by State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr.
Bembo, 42, of Washington Street, Lockport, pleaded guilty in August to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree assault. Kloch gave him the maximum sentence for that crime.
Bembo punched Antiwon J. Dunmyer, who was in jail awaiting a trip to state prison on a felony domestic violence conviction. Dunmyer, 33, of Buffalo, allegedly was being too loud while Bembo was on the phone trying to talk to his girlfriend. Bembo was in jail serving a sentence for violating probation on a cocaine sales conviction.
