“The World Knew: Jan Karski’s Mission for Humanity” is on view in the downtown Central Library through Nov. 16.
Karski was a Polish-born diplomat and “citizen of the world” who, with the help of the anti-Nazi resistance movement in occupied Europe, and at great personal risk. tried to inform Western leaders about the beginning of the Holocaust.
At 2 p.m. Sunday, there will be a screening of the film, “The Labyrinth: The Testimony of Martin Kolodziefj,” a documentary on the artwork of an Auschwitz survivor. It will be followed on Nov. 9, at 2 p.m., with the film “Irene Sendler; In the Name of Their Mothers,” about a group of young Polish women who saved thousands of Jewish children.
