Traffic detours in Niagara Falls, Ont. during Sunday’s marathon

NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. – Several roads here will be closed or restricted Sunday due to the running of the annual Niagara Falls International Marathon, the Niagara Parks Commission reports.

Niagara Parkway will be closed from Old Fort Erie to Upper Rapids Boulevard from 6 a.m. and will reopen as the last runner passes each intersection.

The northbound lanes of Niagara Parkway will be closed from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Upper Rapids Boulevard to Fraser Hill Street. The southbound lanes there will be open to two-way traffic.

Eastbound lines of Upper Rapids Boulevard will be closed from 6 to 10 a.m. Access to Dufferin Islands will be closed all day. Access to Table Rock, the Falls Parking Lot and the Floral Showcase Parking Lot will remain open.
