Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and the Dale Association are hosting information sessions to prepare consumers for the next enrollment period for the New York State of Health insurance exchange.
The sessions take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 1 at two locations: the Summit Healthplex, 6934 Williams Road, Niagara Falls, and the Dale Association, 33 Ontario St., Lockport.
The forums are titled “The Affordable Care Act Year Two: Now What?” and will feature health insurance navigator teams from the hospital, Dale Association, Neighborhood Legal Services and Public Policy Education Fund.
BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, Fidelis Care, UnitedHealthcare and Univera Healthcare employees will be available to answer questions, and EG Tax advisers will talk about health insurance tax credits.
Insurance coverage purchased through New York’s health insurance exchange expires Dec. 31.
The open enrollment period for 2015 begins Nov. 15, and people who want to have a plan that takes effect Jan. 1 must enroll by Dec. 15. The enrollment period ends Feb. 15.
