Health policy summit at Canisius College this Friday

Leaders in the local health care field will gather for a Health Policy Summit from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday in Canisius College’s Science Hall, 1901 Main St.

The program includes appearances by Erie County Health Commissioner Dr. Gale Burstein, who will address “What Is the State of Health in Buffalo and Erie County?” and Dr. Andy Coates of Albany, president of Physicians for a National Health Program, who will talk on “What Is the Role of National Policy in Local Systems Change?”

A panel discussion by health care providers on “The Impact of Policy on Individuals and Families: A Case in Point” will be led by community health worker Rahwa Ghirmatzion. Admission is free, but those attending should email Joycelyn at info@chwbuffalo.org.
