A 52-year-old woman has been identified as the city’s latest homicide victim, authorities said Wednesday afternoon.
Jerald Goldsmith’s body was found near a flight of concrete steps in the area of Masten Park and Edna Place at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to authorities.
An autopsy determined the woman was killed, but law enforcement officials have declined to say how the slaying occurred, explaining that it is part of an ongoing investigation by Buffalo homicide detectives.
After patrol officers were summoned to the scene, not far from City Honors School, they quickly called in homicide investigators because of concerns that the death appeared suspicious.
Anyone with information was asked to call or text the Buffalo Police Department’s Confidential TIPCALL Line at (716) 847-2255.
