CONKLIN, Kenneth H.

CONKLIN - Kenneth H. 86, of Amherst, NY, passed away quietly on August 1, 2014 with his wife and daughter at his side. Ken was born in Rochester, NY on October 16, 1928. He graduated from Syracuse University in 1954 and began his career as the Personnel Director at Moog in 1955. In 1961, while at Moog, he completed his MBA through the University of Buffalo and in 1968 went on to work for the University as their Personnel Director. He retired from there in 1994. As a polio survivor, Ken was a big proponent of charitable causes. For over 35 years, and for as long as they have been keeping records, Ken served as a Board member in a volunteer capacity with the Cerebral Palsy Association of Western New York, which became Aspire of Western New York in 2002. Ken is survived by his wife Henrica Dickson-Conklin of Ontario and his brother-in-law, Mike, from Texas, who was married to Ken's only sister Jean, who predeceased him. Ken also leaves his two children Bonney Asquith of Rhode Island and David Conklin of Massachusetts and four grandchildren: Lily, Mary Grace, Sarah and Liam. He is also survived by his four step-daughters: Cathy, Paula, Patricia and Pamela, all of Ontario, and was predeceased by one step-son, Philip, of Alberta. A small army of 16 additional grandchildren and four great-grandchildren round out his family in Ontario. Due to Ken's childhood polio, he wanted to donate himself to the University of Buffalo's Anatomical Gift Program. At this time, there are no services or visitations planned, but your prayers are welcomed. Condolences can be sent to henny@powergate.ca
