Wrong-way driver charged in collision with ambulance

A vehicle going the wrong way on a one-way street struck a Rural Metro ambulance at Bryant Street and Ashland Avenue early this morning, causing the ambulance to flip over and strike a parked vehicle, Buffalo police said.

The wrong way vehicle also struck a parked vehicle, and the driver then attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended a short time later by officers.

Jeremy Parrilla, 25, of Buffalo was charged with the incident that occurred just after midnight. He is charged with obstruction of governmental administration, driving while under the influence and leaving the scene of an injury accident.

Five people were transported to Erie County Medical Center where they have been treated and released.
