Prison term imposed on Falls man in failed copper caper

LOCKPORT – A Niagara Falls man who pleaded guilty to trying to steal copper pipes from the basement of an apartment house was sentenced Friday ny Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas to 1 1/3 to four years in state prison.

Dominique D. Harrell, 21, of Willow Avenue, had pleaded guilty in July 2013 to attempted third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief in connection with the March 1, 2013, incident on Whitney Avenue.

Harrell was placed on probation in November, but according to Assistant District Attorney Ryan K. Parisi, he did “almost nothing to comply with probation.” At the November sentencing, he was ordered to pay $1,070 in restitution for the damage.
