Woman in winter coat robs Niagara Falls convenience store

NIAGARA FALLS – A clerk at a 7-Eleven store at 2310 Hyde Park Blvd. told police Wednesday that his suspicions were raised when a woman wearing a puffy winter coat with a fur hood in August, carrying a pink umbrella and with a scarf covering part of her face walked up to the counter just before 3 a.m. today.

The woman left and the clerk decided to drop the cash in the register in a safe below the counter.

The strangely dressed woman returned and ordered the clerk to give her $60 so she “didn’t have to hurt him,” the clerk told police.

The clerk gave the suspect about $30 and she ran from the store. The clerk said he wasn’t sure if she fled in a car or on foot. She did not display a weapon.

The woman is described as in her mid-twenties to early thirties, about 5 foot five inches tall, with a skinny build.
