Roslyn R. Dinero, teacher who enjoyed singing

Roslyn R. Dinero, a former elementary school teacher, died Saturday at the Niagara Rehabilitation Center in Niagara Falls. She was 83.

Born Roslyn Rizzo in Buffalo, she graduated from Lafayette High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Buffalo State Teachers College. While attending college, she met her husband, Albert Dinero, and was married Feb. 13, 1954.

The couple first resided in the Town of Tonawanda and moved to East Amherst in 1962.

In addition to her passion for teaching, Mrs. Dinero enjoyed singing and playing the piano.

She took voice lessons at a young age and shared her voice by singing in church, participating in musicals and joining various choirs throughout her life.

She enjoyed traveling, going to Africa with her husband and took several trips across the United States in a camper with her family.

Besides her husband of 60 years, she is survived by a daughter, Susan Lockwood; a son, Steven; a sister, Estelle Croglio; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 6919 Transit Road, Swormville.
