Letter: Will fracking opponents still support sports teams?

Will fracking opponents still support sports teams?

The News regularly publishes anti-fracking opinions and articles. The polls that I’ve seen indicate about 50 percent of the people in New York State are opposed to fracking.

It does beg the question, though, relating to the ownership of the Sabres and potential ownership of the Bills. If there are 18,000 season ticket holders for the Sabres, are approximately 9,000 of them supporting a team primarily purchased with fracking revenue? And if the Sabres owner purchases the Bills, would approximately 24,000 of the 48,000 season ticket holders be supporting a football team primarily purchased with fracking revenue? If this is generally correct, how sincere can these anti-fracking advocates really be? Just wondering.
