Bulletin Board for Aug. 26

Buffalo’s 3.0 USTA Men’s 18 and over team went 5-0 and won 21 of 25 matches to win the United States Tennis Association Sectional Championship in Schenectady. The team coached by Al Litto and led by captain Charles Ceranski triumphed over teams from Long Island, Northern New York, Manhattan and North Jersey and will move on to the national championships in Tucson, Ariz. on Oct. 8.

Other team members are: Bill Olsen, Terry McKelvey, Chris Frangione, John Fisher, Dennis Shea, Chris Stohl and Dennis Ringler.

The Western New York 3.0 Women’s 18 and over team went 2-3 in the sectionals.


BASEBALL: The Southtowns Muckdogs Summer 2015 Elite Travel Team will host tryouts for 11U players at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at 5071 Parker Road, Hamburg.
