Buffalo man gets jail term for Walden Galleria bike theft

A 57-year-old Buffalo man was ordered Tuesday by Cheektowaga Town Justice Paul S. Piotrowski to serve a six-month jail term on his petit larceny plea for the theft of a bicycle from a Walden Galleria store last month. Wilbert Hockenbury of Bailey Avenue was arrested by store security officers when he walked out of the Sears store in the mall with a $329 bicycle. The judge cited Hockenbury’s prior criminal record in refusing to impose a shorter jail term.
