If you see a cop standing on the roof of Dunkin’ Donuts Tuesday morning, don’t worry – it’s not a SWAT situation. Or the punchline of a joke.
Police officers in Buffalo and surrounding communities are participating in a fundraiser for the Special Olympics called “Cops on Top.”
From 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., police officers will sit on the rooftops of Dunkin’ Donut shops to encourage the public to make donations to Special Olympics.
Participating restaurants are at: 5165 Main St. in Williamsville; 5073 Camp Road in Hamburg; 5760 Transit Road in Depew; 6601 Niagara Fall Blvd. in Niagara Falls; 2260 Niagara Falls Boulevard, Wheatfield; 598 Main Street (corner of Main and Chippewa streets from 7 a.m. – 11 a.m.), Buffalo; 2340 Delaware Ave., Buffalo; 1145 Union Road, West Seneca.
Guests will receive gifts from Dunkin’ Donuts for larger donations, including a free pound of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee for a $50 donation, two pounds for $100.
