Batavia inmate charged with damaging jail door

BATAVIA – A Batavia man already in custody for an unrelated incident was charged Thursday by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office with causing $2,488 in damage to the door he allegedly shattered at the county jail about 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

John J. Saddler, 27, of State Street, was charged with second-degree criminal mischief and is being held without bail pending further Batavia City Court proceedings in his cases.
