A North Buffalo woman who crashed into two parked cars and sent one motorist to the hospital with minor injuries Tuesday morning was charged with misdemeanor and felony drunken driving charges, authorities said.
Elizabeth Beard, 55, of Hertel Avenue, who was previously convicted of driving while intoxicated, struck the cars with her vehicle in the area of Hertel and Parkside avenues at about 11:30 a.m. and then drove away, but was apprehended by Northwest District Police Officers James Hummel and John Petricca after witnesses called 911.
Police administered a Breathalyzer test and Beard registered a blood alcohol content level of 0.24, three times the legal limit for DWI, officers said. An individual in one of the parked cars was taken to Sisters Hospital for treatment of a back injury, police said.
Beard was charged with misdemeanor aggravated drunken driving, felony driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident. In 2008, she was convicted of drunken driving.
