Celebrate 'Art, Food and Music' in East Aurora

What’s that uproar? It’s the Wild Rumpus. The trio from the Appalachian region of West Virginia are stampeding into East Aurora at 6 p.m. Friday to play for a one-evening festival called “Art, Food and Music” at the Roycroft Power House (31 S. Grove St., East Aurora).

The Wild Rumpus, as if anyone needs an excuse to catch a group like that, plays a blend of bluegrass, punk, folk, blues and old country. It has been credited with introducing Applachian “Stompgrass.” The trio’s no-holds-barred tunes are a worthy accompaniment to the other goings on of “Art, Food and Music.”

The festival also features a photography exhibit by local photographer Peter Potter, who took the photographs for the book “Images of America: Knox Farm State Park.” Prints will be available for purchase. And caterer Karen Mayhew of Dailys Catering will display her mastery of food art.
