Aug. 18, 1969: Arcara’s first go-round in the federal courts

Just a few months ago, U.S. District Court Judge Richard Arcara announced his “semi-retirement.”

He’s been on the federal bench since 1988, and at age 74, Arcara asked for “senior status,” which means a significantly lighter workload.

In 1969, the then-29-year-old attorney was named an assistant U.S. attorney in H. Kenneth Schroeder’s office.
