The 2014-15 property tax levy and rates have been finalized for the West Seneca School District.

Meeting last week, the School Board adopted a tax levy of roughly $55.15 million.

Tax rates, per $1,000 of assessed valuation, in the four towns comprising the district are: $39.96 in West Seneca; $17.14 in Cheektowaga; $30.08 in Orchard Park; and $30.29 in Hamburg.

This week:

• Guest speaker Thomas Herrera-Mishler, president and chief executive officer of Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, will talk about Buffalo’s world-famous Olmsted Parks System at Wednesday’s meeting of the Rotary Club of West Seneca, which begins at 7:45 a.m. in Alton’s Columns Room, Transit Road and Seneca Street. • Main Street Marketplace runs from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday on the grassy hill at Main Street and Union Road – adjacent to Town Hall. In case of wet weather, vendors will be on the hockey rink parking lot behind Town Hall.

• Summerfest '14 – featuring live music, a craft beer tent, craft show, food, games and raffles – kicks off Friday at Fourteen Holy Helpers Parish, 1345 Indian Church Road. Hours are 5 p.m. to midnight Friday; 4 p.m. to midnight Saturday; and 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
