Where we live: Cheektowaga

Buffalo Crushed Stone will be the subject of an informational meeting Monday night.

Moving the main entrance to the quarry from Como Park Boulevard to Broadway is among the subjects of ongoing discussions between company and town officials.

Meanwhile, the company has an application pending before the state Department of Environmental Conservation for a four-acre expansion to allow stockpiling only and to maintain the berm to delineate its property line from property to the west. “This permit modification did not propose any changes to the area to be excavated within the existing mining operation,” said Kristen Davidson, a DEC spokeswoman.

The informational meeting will begin after the Town Board’s regular session, which convenes at 6:45 p.m. Monday in Council Chambers at Town Hall, 3301 Broadway.
