Letter: Repeat drunken driver deserved to go to jail

Repeat drunken driver deserved to go to jail

I am enraged and truly disappointed in Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas with regard to her sentencing of Mayne D. Marvin. The article in the Aug. 9 News stated it was his fourth driving while intoxicated conviction. Yet he eluded jail because he would apparently lose his high-paying job. Isn’t that too bad! He should have thought about that while he was on probation for his third DWI.

People need to deal with the consequences of their actions and “soft” judges aren’t helping. Someone who gets a fourth DWI while on probation for his third DWI deserves to get jail time. He is breaking the law! It certainly gives the impression that if you have money, you can buy your way around the law. Farkas should be ashamed of herself.
