RODGERS, Charles N.

RODGERS - Charles N. Dundee, NY, age 77, passed away on August 14, 2014. Chuck was born on September 12, 1936 in Warsaw, NY; a son of Lloyd and Mary Rebecca (Shepard) Rodgers. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Woodard); daughter, Nanette; son, Todd (Ginger); son, Jonathan (Jessica); four grandchildren, Charles, Nicholas, Dylan and Anna; sister, JoAnn (Kurlej); many nieces, nephews and friends. Chuck had a deep understanding of human nature. All around him knew he was a champion for the good fight with unparalleled integrity. Chuck loved to laugh; although he was a man of strict morals, humor was an ever present attribute. Chuck enjoyed touring battlefields and historical sites, returning as Alumni to his beloved Kent State University, playing golf, hunting, fishing, and especially spending time with his four grandchildren. His career as a history teacher, union representative, and eventually Regional Coordinator for New York State United Teachers demonstrated his appreciation for education and team play. However, Chuck's greatest passion was his family. A Celebration of Chuck's Life will be held on Friday, August 22 2014, 4:00 PM at Bellangelo Winery, 150 Poplar Point, Dundee, NY 14837. In Chuck's memory, please consider a donation to the Clinic For the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (www.crowclinic.org) or The Kent State University Scholarship Fund (www.kent.edu/advancement/givetokent).
