Buffalo man gets 18 months behind bars as marijuana peddler

A man accused of trying to sell 25 ounces of marijuana was sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara to 18 months in prison.

Demerius Rivera, 33, of Buffalo, had previously been convicted of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank T. Pimentel said police executed a search at 77 Landon St. in 2012 and found 25 ounces of marijuana packaged for sale in Rivera’s bedroom. They also recovered three shotguns.

The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Buffalo and Lancaster police.
