The Buffalo Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals named Debra A. Prautzsch president for the 2014-15 year. Prautzsch is employed by Catholic Health System. Other officers: vice president, Barbara Mathews, First Niagara Bank; secretary, Kimberley Stahl, M&T Bank; treasurer, Diane Karosik, Hospice Foundation of WNY. The Association for a Buffalo Presidential Center recently elected Maryann Saccomando Freedman of Cohen & Lombardo, president for 2014-15. Other officers: vice president, Mark D. Evans, member service director for the American Political Items Collectors; secretary, Michelle Schwach Miecznikowski of Cohen & Lombardo; treasurer, Scott Gehl, executive director of Housing Opportunities Made Equal; member-at-large to the executive committee, Joan K. Bozer, retired Erie County legislator. Saccomando Freedman, Evans and Bozer were also elected to three-year terms on the board of trustees, along with Walter G. Sharrow, professor of history at Canisius College. The association encourages the study, exploration, interpretation and public awareness of Buffalo and Western New York’s contribution to the presidency and national affairs.


Cohen & Lombardo partner James Nash and his wife, Lauren Nash, were selected to serve as the vice chair couple for the 2014 Bison Celebration Luncheon on Oct. 9 in the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. The annual luncheon raises money and awareness for the Bison Children’s Scholarship Fund, a privately funded tuition assistance program for low-income children living in the eight counties of Western New York. Carl Montante Jr., vice president of marketing and strategic initiatives for Uniland Development Co., and his wife, Wendy Montante, will serve as the 2014 chair couple.

Sahlen’s Packing Co. has partnered with QVC, which will sell Sahlen’s hot dogs, enabling customers outside of Western New York to purchase the brand’s product. The tentative live, on-air appearance date is set for Aug. 20.


Schoemann’s Road Service was ranked on the Towman 500 list of the most experienced towmen in America, by American Towman magazine, an industry trade publication. Schoemann’s Road Service was established in 1982.
