Car stolen from World War II veteran

Buffalo Police are trying to determine who stole a car from a World War II veteran who lives in the city’s Lovejoy neighborhood.

The victim told police that someone illegally entered his home early Saturday and stole the keys for his home and his car.

The man did not realize that his car – a red 1999 Saturn – had been stolen until he was ready to leave for Mass late Saturday afternoon, officers said.

The victim is a World War II veteran in his 90s who has been victimized before, police said. Detectives from the East Ferry District are investigating the theft.
