Two involved in Batavia stabbing sought by police

BATAVIA – An unidentified suspect who allegedly stabbed a man who was found crying for help on a front yard lawn at 610 Ellicott Street just before 2 p.m. Sunday and the driver of the car in which he escaped are both being sought by Batavia Police.

Police spokesmen said that after 911 calls about the stabbing officers found a man in his early thirties bleeding from a stab wound to his lower extremity.

The victim, whose name has not been released by police, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment of what were described as non-life-threatening injuries. Police said they have learned the victim and the attacker knew each other and they are following up some leads.
