Concert calendar: Girl Talk, BPO, Drake & Wayne

At least for this week, your entertainment comes in pairs.

Whether it's the Wilson sisters from Heart, two mid-week Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra performances or Drake and Lil Wayne spitting verses back and forth on the same stage, you'll swear you're seeing double.

Plus, the Erie County Fair -- which will later greet Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum and Bridgit Mendler -- gets rolling on Wednesday. There's nothing wrong with making the Gusto Grandstand your personal headquarters.

If you're craving more music at Canalside, then Thursday's free BPO concert, where the orchestra will flaunt its versatility by playing Earth, Wind and Fire and Michael Jackson, will whet your palate for Friday's Girl Talk, the one-man DJ show that graced the Outer Harbor in August 2012.

The Pittsburgh EDM star's appearance marks the penultimate ticketed Canalside concert for this summer, as Foster the People closes out the schedule.

Stay tuned for Friday's Farrell Four, where Michael Farrell previews four compelling weekend shows.

Here is the complete schedule from the Gusto Summer Concert Guide, which can be viewed in its entirety here:

Tuesday, Aug. 5

(6:30 p.m. Artpark)
Fresh from their well-deserved induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Wilson sisters return to Lewiston.

Drake vs. Lil Wayne

Darien is the first stop on this tour, and Western New York will have no idea what to expect. How will this rap battle setup work out? Will the crowd favor Weezy or Drizzy? Will rumored special guest Nicki Minaj turn up?

Steely Dan
(8 p.m. Seneca Niagara Events Center)
Wish this one was happening at Canalside, simply for the setting, but any opportunity to see Steely Dan is worth taking.

EDM writ large on the waterfront.
