Man setting up tree stand falls 14 feet to ground

LEWISTON – A Town of Niagara man was airlifted to Erie County Medical Center Friday night after falling 14 feet while attempting to set up a tree stand for deer hunting, Niagara County sheriff’s deputies said.

Brian J. Arbatosky, 31, of Saunders Settlement Road, fell from a tree shortly before 7 p.m. in a wooded area about a quarter-mile west of Miller Road, deputies said. Though Arbatosky landed on his feet, deputies said, he fell onto his back. He was listed in stable condition Saturday.
