A crowd formed at the old Erie Railroad Depot at Union and Scott streets in the Village of Hamburg this morning to greet the James E. Strates Shows carnival train.
Sixty-one rail cars brimming with carnival rides and equipment on board the train make up the train, which has been hauling rides to the Erie County Fair for nine decades now.
James E. Strates, president and CEO of the Strates Shows, will be in the locomotive as it arrives, proceeding through a ceremonial banner. They’ll be met by a marching band and will be escorted to Village Hall in a motorcade.
The fair starts Wednesday.
