Buffalo woman arrested after stolen car is found in her backyard

A 51-year-old Reiman Street woman was arrested on a felony count of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property after Buffalo police went to her home and found a 1967 Pontiac Firebird that had been reported stolen Monday in Hamburg.

Magdalena Witkowski was charged after police arrived at her house with the owner of the stolen vehicle. Witkowski insisted the car was parked in her backyard by a male friend who she said “steals cars.” The car owner told police that Tuesday he got a tip on the possible location of his vehicle and he asked Buffalo police for help locating the vehicle. That led them to the Reiman Street house.
