NIAGARA FALLS – Two Canadian boaters were rescued by the State Park Police Marine Patrol shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday after their craft drifted into the danger zone in the Niagara River above the falls.
State Park Police said the boaters had run out of gas and were drifting without an anchor. Their emergency flares were spotted by people onshore, who called authorities.
The Marine Patrol towed the disabled craft to the American side and secured it. Police said the two boaters, who were not identified, were unhurt.
