Working with Equi-Star does help one value simple things
I am commenting on Matthew Ingro’s heartwarming “My View” of June 26.
I completely understand the feelings Ingro described and felt moved by his revelations. They are realizations I have known for many years. My severely mentally disabled sister has been riding at Equi-Star for the past three or more years.
Libbie loves all animals, and especially loves riding her horse named Libby. I meet Libbie and her staff from the group home at the barn, and become fully immersed in all the love and learning that goes on, as I side-walk alongside Libbie as she rides. Half the time Libbie can’t perform all the exercises as directed, but she laughs and chats with everyone, and infects them with her happiness.
It is as Ingro described: it certainly makes everything else in the world pale, and makes you appreciate the very simple things that truly bring authentic joy and peace.
