Mexican national suspected of rape in home country is deported

A Mexican citizen suspected of rape in his home country was deported Friday, according to a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement official in Buffalo.

Sergio Gallardo-Sanchez, 33, was taken to Brownsville, Texas, where he was turned over to Mexican authorities to face rape allegations.

Taken into custody on June 10, Gallardo-Sanchez was the subject of an outstanding removal order after serving time for assault in a New York State prison.

Gallardo-Sanchez’s deportation was handled by ICE’s Enforcement and Removal officers.
