Convict with history of identity theft faces additional charges

LOCKPORT – A Depew woman who has been convicted twice on forgery charges was accused repeating her pattern of crime on Monday after she was found to have made three unauthorized withdrawals from the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Correctional Facilities inmate account system.

Tammy A. Elliott, 42, of Transit Road was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and second-degree identity theft, both felonies. A court date is set for Thursday in the Town of Lockport Court.

Elliott, pleaded guilty this past December to similar charges, admitting she stole more that $16,000 from a Pendleton man she knows. She was convicted of using the man’s personal information to open credit card, cellphone and other accounts.

A second-time felon, she also served time in state prison seven years ago following a forgery conviction in Erie County.
