SHELDON – A Canadian couple was injured when the motorcycle they were riding struck a deer in the Wyoming County town of Sheldon, sheriff’s deputies reported.

Michael Dendy, 54, and his wife Sandra, 49, of Welland, were riding west on Route 20A at about 9:25 p.m. Sunday when a deer entered the road and hit their motorcycle, deputies said. They were ejected from the motorcycle.

Deputies said Sandra was airlifted to Erie County Medical Center, where she was treated for a broken left wrist and released. Her husband was taken by ambulance to the same hospital, where he was treated for cuts and bruises, then released.
