It has been a quarter-century since the opening that Louis L. Berger Jr. described as "a zoo." After years of red tape and zoning battles, shoppers finally got their first look at the $100 million Walden Galleria mall.
"The stores are ready to roll, open their gates and greet their customers," said Annette Carbone, director of marketing for Pyramid. "Of course we're eager to hear the cash registers ringing."
"Jennifer Nazzarette, 20, summed up many shoppers' feelings today when she almost shouted: 'Finally, some different stores. I'm going to have a ball.' "
