Meyer to announce bid for Assembly seat held by Walter

Democrat Steven Meyer will announce Thursday that he will run for the Assembly – which could make him the youngest member of the State Legislature.

The 22-year-old Amherst native will launch his bid for the 146th District seat currently held by Republican Raymond Walter during a 12:15 p.m. appearance on the steps of the Amherst Municipal Building.

Meyer, a graduate of Williamsville East High School, and American University, faces an uphill battle in the GOP-dominated district.
