George Will to headline commencement slate at Niagara University

LEWISTON – Syndicated columnist and television pundit George F. Will is scheduled to give the commencement address to graduate students at Niagara University at 7 p.m. May 8, the university announced Tuesday.

Will, whose column appears in The Buffalo News, will receive an honorary doctorate in humane letters. So will Andrea Elliott, the New York Times investigative reporter who won a Pulitzer Prize in 2007. She will address the graduates of the colleges of Arts and Sciences and Education at 3 p.m. May 10.

Paul M. McManus, a 1965 Niagara graduate who is now president and CEO of Leading Hotels of the World, will address the degree recipients from the colleges of Business Administration and Hospital and Tourism Management at 10 a.m. May 10. He will be given the President’s Medal, Niagara’s highest award.

All three ceremonies will be held in the Gallagher Center on campus.
