Road to the draft: Jordan Matthews

Position: Wide receiver.
School: Vanderbilt.
Measurements: 6-foot-2 1-2, 212 pounds.
40 time: 4.46 seconds. Vertical jump: 35.5 inches.
2013 stats: 112 catches, 1,477 yards, 14 TDs.
Draft projection: Second round.

Lowdown: Matthews brings good size, consistent production and great character to the table. For his career, he caught 262 passes for 3,759 yards and 24 TDs. He has good run-after-the-catch ability. He's not a freak athlete, although he tested well. His combine numbers were equal to those of top-rated WR Sammy Watkins. At the Senior Bowl he had some drops and didn't show the extra gear to stretch the defense. Matthews' mother is a first cousin to Jerry Rice.

He said it: "Being at Vanderbilt we had a lot of adversity. We had a lot of change. We had three head coaches, six different quarterbacks, three offensive coordinators, three wide receivers coaches. I think a lot of guys around the country played with a little more stability, but I was able to adapt to change and I feel like I was able to come out and be one of the top in my fields. So I feel like that is something different about me."
