Kenny awards for high school theater to be held May 10

The annual Kenny Awards ceremony – which recognizes the talent, dedication and effort of local high school youth – will be held 4 p.m. May 10 at Shea’s Performing Arts Center.

This year’s finalists for excellence in producing and performing musicals are Eden Jr./Sr. High School for “The Wedding Singer”; Fredonia High School for “Bye, Bye Birdie”; Maple Grove High School for “Grease”; North Tonawanda High School for “9 to 5 The Musical”; Orchard Park High School for “Les Miserables”; Tonawanda High School for “Grease” and West Seneca West High School for “Godspell.”

The winner will receive a $5,000 grant form the Lipke Foundation for use by the school’s theater department. Individual awards will also be announced.
