Lockport man pleads guilty to intent to sell cocaine

LOCKPORT – A man who moved from Rochester to Lockport a year ago pleaded guilty Friday to possession of cocaine with the intention of selling it in Lockport.

Calvin S. Carver, 25, of Irving Street, was admitted to the judicial diversion program of court-supervised drug treatment by Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas after pleading guilty to third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. The charge stemmed from an Oct. 20 incident.

If Carver succeeds in diversion, his charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor, and he will avoid jail time. If he fails, he faces up to nine years in prison.
