Lockport man charged with Leandra’s Law violation

LOCKPORT – A High Street man pleaded not guilty in Niagara County Court Friday to an indictment that charged him with violating Leandra’s Law by driving drunk with his girlfriend’s two children in the vehicle.

William Robinson Jr., 35, is charged with aggravated and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, improper turn signal and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Deputy District Attorney Theodore A. Brenner said Robinson’s blood alcohol content was measured at 0.12 percent after the April 4 City of Lockport traffic stop. Police also had a warrant for Robinson’s arrest on a menacing charge. His record also includes attempted first-degree robbery convictions in 1997 and 2002, and a stolen car conviction in 2012. However, Brenner said this was Robinson’s fist alcohol-related arrest. Farkas set bail at $5,000.
