Falls drug addict sentenced to treatment facility

LOCKPORT – A Niagara Falls woman who said she has been a drug addict for more than half her life was sentenced Wednesday to a stint in the state prison system’s secure treatment facility.

Rashi K. Perry, 28, of South Avenue, had pleaded guilty to fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance for selling cocaine to a police informant in Niagara Falls April 3, 2013.

Perry said she’s been using drugs since she was 13 years old. Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas told her that her assignment to Willard Correctional Facility could turn her life around. If Perry fails in the six-month program, however, she will serve three years in a regular cell.
