Darien Lake expands its offering of overnight accommodations

Darien Lake continues to expand and upgrade its overnight accommodations, adding 40 new RVs, seven new deluxe cabins and five new economy cabins this season.

The theme park has been steadily increasing its offerings over the past two years, pouring more than $2 million into a wide array of accommodations ranging from no-frills campsites to luxury hotel suites.

“It’s important to have a variety of options and amenities so that all of our guests have a relaxing and enjoyable time when they stay overnight with us,” said Dennis Kohl, director of accommodations at Darien Lake.

Darien Lake regularly draws patrons from as far away as north of Toronto and throughout Pennsylvania, many of whom prefer to stay overnight rather than return home after a long day at the park.

Having attractive and varied accommodations also helps the park compete as a vacation destination and helps entice local guests to stay longer, Kohl said.

The new RVs sleep up to eight people and have a slide-out feature that expands the amount of space inside. The air-conditioned RVs, which start at $134 per night, have stoves, microwaves, refrigerators and full bathrooms.

The economy cabins, which start at $179 per night, have a covered outdoor patio. The deluxe cabins, which start at $299 per night, boast a flat-screen TV with cable and free Wi-Fi, as well as a covered porch. Both kinds of cabins are air-conditioned, have full kitchens and bathrooms and sleep up to eight people.

Lodging prices do not include park admission, which is required and sold at a discount.

Darien Lake also has added an enclosed camping lounge for its guests complete with a flat-screen TV and video games, and overhauled the campground’s general store.

Darien Lake can sleep more than 7,000 people on any given night.

Its Lodge on the Lake hotel has 160-rooms, including 10 fort-themed rooms geared toward families with children.

Its campground has 630 campsites, 283 furnished RV campsites and 20 glamour-camping “glamping” sites – canvas tents furnished with beds, tables, chairs and other amenities.
