A 22-year-old Buffalo drug trafficking suspect was arrested Wednesday morning during a raid on his Tyler Street home. Matthew R. McCarty was arrested about 10:40 a.m. by detectives from the Erie County Sheriff’s narcotics unit with assistance of Buffalo police drug detectives.
Senior Detective Alan Rozansky, chief of the sheriff’s narcotics unit, said during the raid authorized by Erie County Judge Kenneth F. Case after a long investigation, about three pounds of marijuana and hallucinogenic mushrooms were seized in the house.
McCarty was in the Erie County Holding Center Wednesday night, awaiting his Buffalo City Court arraignment today on felony charges of criminal possession of a hallucinogenic drug with intent to sell, criminal possession of a hallucinogen and criminal possession of marijuana. He is facing a prison term of up to 25 years, if convicted.
