Regional horse tracks generate $32.6 million in first quarter

The three gaming and horse racing tracks in Western and Central New York have contributed $32.6 million in revenue-sharing funds to state government during the first three months of 2014, it was announced. Horse owners received purses of $5.4 million during the period.

The tracks include Batavia Downs Gaming in Batavia, owned and operated by Western Regional Off-Track Betting Corp., and two facilities owned and operated by Delaware North Cos. Gaming and Entertainment – Hamburg Gaming, home of Buffalo Raceway, and Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack in Farmington, east of Rochester.
